Syed Nwa Abbas Rizvi

Project Officer, Education

Syed Nwa Abbas Rizvi is a multilingual writer, translator, and educator from Lahore, Pakistan. Nwa is passionate about developing high-quality resources and educational aid systems that are accessible to educators in all parts and socio-economic strata of her country and immediate geographic context. Hearing impaired and hyperactive, she believes that the basis of this development needs to be human connection, patience, empathy, and a drive to just deeply enjoy changing the world together.  She is a graduate from Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Lahore, and University of Derby (UOD). Nwa was a part of the Global Schools Advocate Program for the 2021-22 cohort and then became a Mentor for the 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25 cohorts. She is also a current Local Pathways Fellow for the cohort of 2025.  On the side, Nwa is the owner and Chief Editor for an international literary magazine: The Missing Slate, its subsidiary: The Missing Slate Translations, and has been published herself in national publications such as The Aleph Review and international publications such as The Equator Line Magazine. Professionally, she works as the Manager – Curriculum English at Beaconhouse School System, and helps run an NGO-based school in Heir Village: Humaira Riaz High School.
